Kozhikode: KSRTC launched its first low budget tourist service covering major travel destinations in the city limits of Kozhikode in the Thiruvananthapuram ‘City Ride’ model. The travellers who arrived at Tali temple in the initial Kozhikode City Ride in a KSRTC bus received a warm welcome by the authorities.
On the City Ride service commencing from Kozhikode bus stand, passengers can explore Planetarium, Tali temple, Kuttichira Mishkal Mosque, Kuttichira pond, Kothi beach, Nainamvalappu, South beach, Gandhi park, Butt road beach, English church and Mananchira square.
The service that amuse passengers with the sightseeings of the city cost Rs 200 per passenger. The bus will halt in each spot offering ample time for the passengers to delve into the sites and capture pictures. The service will start from 1 pm and end by 8 pm daily. The passengers will not be allowed to join the team from the middle of the trip. The songs recommended by the travellers will be played to make the travel more delightful.
The authorities have been planning to include more destinations such as Kozhikode beach and Sarovaram park in the next phase by analysing the progress of the current service. KSRTC also mulls to launch double-decker services in Kozhikode following the Thiruvananthapuram model.
