Rajamala, abode of Nilgiri tahrs, opens for visitors, booking only via online

Munnar: Tourists will be allowed to visit Rajamala, the abode of Nilgiri Tahrs, from April 1. The entry tickets are available only through online booking via the website www.eravikulamnationalpark.in. The confirmation message can be availed via WhatsApp, text message and email within seven minutes of booking the slots. The visitors will be permitted to enter Rajamala at the allotted time, after scanning the barcode in the received message from the entry point at Fifth Mile.

Free WiFi facilities will be installed in the parking ground at 5th Mile. It will help the visitors to book tickets from the parking area itself.

Wildlife warden SV Vinod and assistant wildlife warden Job J Neriamparambil informed that awareness regarding online facilities will be provided for the tourists at Periyavara and Chattamunnar check posts.

The national park was closed in view of the breeding season of Tahrs. Entry will be granted to 2,880 visitors per day, said the forest officials.
