Alappuzha: Minister of Tourism PA Muhammed Riyas informed that a tourism circuit will be formed by connecting the different centres related to Malabar rebellion. The tourism department will provide enough assistance to initiate the project as the sites associated with the Malabar rebellion have great historical significance.
Along with the naturally beautiful sites, historically noteworthy locations are also part of tourism, said the minister. The minister who is also the All India President of DYFI was inaugurating the seminars of DYFI district committee, Alappuzha.
The incident that happened in Tirur as part of Malabar rebellion is not a Wagon tragedy, but a massacre. Tragedy means disaster and it is not made by someone intentionally. But choking and murdering people by herding them into a windowless wagon was deliberate. The victims who lost lives include people from different religions and castes. It was not a rebellion fought to form an islamic state, the minister added.
