Kalpetta: Wayanad District Tourism Promotion Council is gearing up to develop a Jain Circuit in the district to facilitate the learning and promotion of Jain culture in Wayanad. This would become South India’s first and India’s second Jain circuit, the first being in Bihar.

By connecting key Jain centres in Wayanad district, the circuit is expected to become a key programme for both pilgrims as well as tourists.

As part of the campaign, a cycle ride titled ‘Jain Ride’ connecting various Jain sites in the district will be organised on December 17th. The one-day cycle ride will begin from Puliyarmala in Kalpetta and proceed to Sulthan Bathery via Mananthavady, covering a distance of 100 kilometres across 12 Jain centres.

The tourism department is also organising various other events including a cleanliness drive and a pamphlet campaign.
