Thiruvananthapuram: Weeks after special allocation for caravan tourism in Kerala Budget 2022, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) has launched state’s first package to allure both domestic and foreign guests. The first package offers free breakfast and some attractive facilities.
In a caravan, four adults and two children can travel. A tourist will have to pay Rs 3,999 plus tax for travel and one night stay in the luxurious caravan with all facilities. Fare for 1 km travel has been fixed at Rs 40.
Free vegetarian breakfast and refreshments will be provided in the caravan. While tea, coffee and evening snacks will be served in the park Caravan Meadows. Bonfire experience, parking facility and Wi-Fi too will be complimentary.
Kumarakom-Vagamon- Thekkady route circuit travel has been envisioned in the first phase of the venture. The journey starts from Kumarakom. After covering the stretch of 80 to 100 kms, the caravan will reach Vagamon by afternoon. After halt, the next day, the caravan will head to Thekkady.
According to KTDC chairman PK Sasi, tourists will have the option to choose between travel with one night’s halt or continuous travel to the route.
