Thenmala (Kollam): Tourists will not be allowed to enter Palaruvi waterfalls in Aryankavu as it nearly drained in the scorching summer. The restrictions will come into force from Monday. The action was taken considering the chances of wildfire too.

Normally, wild animals arrive at the waterfalls when water scarcity is experienced in the deep forest areas in summer. Entry to the waterfall was closed for tourists for many months due to COVID restrictions.

Later, it was reopened in November. However, the tourists were not allowed to take bath in the waterfall as part of COVID restrictions. A slight rainfall received in February helped the waterfall remain active till March.
