Bekal fort beach

Kasaragod: Bekal beach is all set to mark the culture of Kasaragod on the world map and render a new face for the tourism sector in the district with the upcoming international festival. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Bekal International Beach Festival organised with the support of the Kerala tourism department from December 24.

Various adventurous rides, water sports, grand carnivals, helicopter rides, flower shows, robotic shows, sand art, exhibitions, and art performances have been scheduled in the 10-day-long festival. Over 200 stalls will be set up for the exhibitions. The performances of the Nooran sisters, Sithara, Shabnam Riyas, Praseetha Chalakudy, Mattannoor Sankarankutty, and Stephen Devassy will be held on different days at the festival.

The tickets are being sold via cooperative banks and Kudumbashree units. Special counters will be set up on beaches for selling tickets.

Minister Ahammed Devarkovil and Raj Mohan Unnithan MP will inaugurate the robotic show and flower show, respectively.

Delegates from Arab countries will participate in the cultural programmes on the second day of the festival.

The Tourism Department expects the participation of over 2000 artistes in the event, which will end on January 2.
