A cycle ride to Sabarimala from Karnataka


He started his journey eight days back from his home and needs three more days to reach Sabarimala.

Kaipangalam: A devotee comes from Karnataka to Sabarimala on a bicycle. Channabasavaraj (58), a native of Alnavar in Dharwad district, Karnataka, set out on a bicycle with the aim of making friends with people of different places.

Channabasavaraj, who has gone to Sabarimala eight times on a scooter, is travelling by bicycle for the first time. He rides the cycle for about 100 km every day, stops by 11 pm and then rests at any temple or in the locality for night. Again travel at 7 am the next day. The bicycle is equipped with features such as solar panel that can charge a mobile phone and his music box.

He started his journey eight days back from home and needs three more days to reach Sabarimala. He will be returning by train. The Kaipamangalam natives welcomed Channabasavaraj by offering him a tender coconut. He has a wife and two children.
