Thrissur: This year’s Chief Minister's Ever-Rolling Trophy Kandassankadavu Boat Race was held on September 9, 2022. The boat race is being conducted after two long years since the Covid pandemic hit. Kandassankadavu boat race is held in the Enamakkal Lake and Conolly Canal in Kandassankadavu of Thrissur in Kerala. Competitions are held in the ‘Iruttukuthi’, ‘Churulan’ and ‘Chundan’ boat categories. The boat race was started in 1956 with just two boats competing in the race and later expanded to a grand festival around the time of Onam.
