Let kids enjoy indoor games amid lockdown, Sachin’s reply to Anuja Jith
The lockdown over coronavirus outbreak has ravaged the playtime of children during the summer vacation. Sachin Tendulkar had spent a major time of his life on crease and stadiums. Anuja Jith, a staff nurse at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in New Delhi, wanted to know from Sachin on his message to children who are experiencing lockdown.
“The best would not happen every time. But we should try to create the best out of which we possess. With this thought, we should lead our life. There will be many problems and disappointments in our life. But we should try to overcome it. And if we keep trying, a solution will come out of it ultimately,” said Sachin.
“During my childhood, I went to school from my uncle’s house. I preferred to stay there because the house was close to Shivaji Park. Even after daily coaching, I never felt satisfied and continued to practice with a small golf bat. We were living in a small house. My aunt used to throw the ball for my practice session. She used to sit on the balcony to throw the ball and we continue the session for a long time. Juggling with a tennis ball was another interesting game during childhood. I tried all these indoor games to overcome my limitations at home,” Sachin narrated how he had spent time with the indoor game during childhood.
“But nowadays, there are numerous options to engage children at home. There is an unlimited scope of various activities in online for children. But interestingly, like adults children also have started to adapt themselves to life in the lockdown. I am sure that these days will teach them of some values that will help them in life. I think if they utilize this time efficiently, they will be significant personalities in future. This time is a great challenge. But it is not the end of anything. We will confront it together,” motivated Sachin.
