Hall in Padmaprabha public library named after M P Veerendrakumar
Kalpetta: The main hall in ‘Padmaprabha Pothugranthaalayam,’ Kainatty, was named after the late Socialist leader and native son, M P Veerendrakumar.
Delivering the inaugural address on the occasion of what would have been his 84th birthday, Wayanad district collector Dr. Adeela Abdullah said that Veerendrakumar was an outstanding writer and an able parliamentarian. She also mentioned that his championing the cause of the people of Wayanad and Kerala would remain etched in grateful memory forever.
Granthaalayam president T V Ravindran presided over the function, which was also addressed by secretary M M Paily, executive committee members C Abdusalaam, I K Babu Prasannakumar, P Govindan, K Prakashan, K P Ratnakharan and E Shekharan.
The newly christened spacious hall in the two-storey building can comfortably seat 150 persons. It boasts excellent facilities, including chairs and a sound system with good acoustics.
