An unusual frame in the wild
Nature thrusts upon some unusual frames of the wild on a few wildlife photographers. One such frame was grabbed by a young Malayalee wildlife photographer, Jerry Martin, from Masai Mara in Kenya. Hailing from Thrissur, Jerry works in Bengaluru.
The great migration of wildebeests from Tanzania to Kenya every year is an awe-inspiring spectacle. Not in thousands but in lakhs the Wildebeests migrate for a short time. Like a great congregation, the wild animals go speeding from Tanzania to Kenya.
In their rather mad race, they cross many obstacles. Crossing wild river is a desperate situation when crocodiles would be rampant and catch many a beast for its flesh. The sharp bite is gruesome ultimately drowning the beast and the crocodiles deliciously gulp the flesh with blood and mud.
But some beasts may escape. Sometimes they witness the kill and then flee. One such unusual frame attracted Jerry when a beast evading a crocodile jumped in desperation. It was such an unusual shot that he snatched at the spur of the moment.
The photographer was excited and said, ‘I waited for some time anticipating such a frame’. He was happy for realising the dream of capturing an unusual frame which is rarely hit by photographers.
