Thiruvananthapuram: Over half of the population above 18 years are vaccinated in the state. A total of 1,66,89,600 beneficiaries have received first and second doses of vaccines. Among them, 1,20,10,450 were administered first dose of vaccine and 46,79,150 vaccinated second dose too.
50.4% of people above 18 years have received the first dose of vaccine and 19.5% received the second dose as of now. According to the census of 2011, 35.95% were vaccinated with the first dose and 14% were fully vaccinated with second dose too. Health Minister Veena George informed that more people will get vaccine when the availability increases.
Compared to men, more women have received vaccines in the state. 86,70,691 women and 80,16,121 men are vaccinated. Among the population in between 18 and 44 years, 39,84,992 were administered vaccines. 58,13,498 people between 45 and 60 years and 68,91,110 above 60 years are vaccinated. Ernakulam stands first in vaccinating more people in the state.
