Thiruvananthapuram: The second National Corporate Conference of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) will be held on October 15, 16 at the Travancore International Convention Centre in Karyavattom Greenfield Stadium. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the conference on October 15.
More than a thousand physiotherapists from different parts of the country, including national officials, will be part of the conference.
Physiotherapists will henceforth be included in the health care category with independent practicing status due to the formation of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare professionals council.
Officials of the association said that the state government has started the process by issuing a notification for the formation of the state council. Once the law comes into force, council registration will be mandatory for those looking to work as physiotherapists.
