Kasaragod: It's now time to wait for the tree to sprout, flower, and fruit with the sweetness of rebirth. Kasaragod on Wednesday witnessed a rare occasion. The mango tree planted by poet Sugathakumari 16 years ago got replanted 1.5kms away to Adukkath Vayal Govt UP school.
Hundreds of people witnessed the transplantation of 'Payaswini' tree, named by Sugathakumari. The process of uprooting the tree was successful after hours of work.
The tree was initially tried to lift after removing the soil and cutting off the branches but failed. Finally, the replantation was done to the new place using an excavator. The students, teachers, and parents welcomed 'Payaswini' at the Adukkath Vayal school entrance with flowers and cheers. The planting process was completed by 2 pm under normal weather conditions.
