Queen Consort Camilla presented the prize to Karunatilaka who said it had been "an honour and a privilege" to receive the prize

The 47-year-old author also gets a 50,000 pound ($56,700) prize

Karunatilaka is most notable for his 2010 debut novel 'Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew'
