Alappuzha: Poet-lyricist Sreekumaran Thampi has been selected for this year’s Thakazhi Award instituted by Thakazhi Memorial Trust.
The award is given to Sreekumaran Thampi considering his overall contribution to Malayalam language and literature. The award comprises a purse of Rs 50,000 and a felicitation letter.
The winner was selected by a jury headed by minister G Sudhakaran. The award will be presented at a function to be held at Thakazhi Memorial in February this year.
