Mohanlal to release daughter Vismaya’s collection of poems, paintings on Valentine’s day

Kozhikode: This Valentine day, Mohanlal’s daughter Vismaya is releasing her book, a collection of poems and paintings. The book titled ‘Grains of Stardust’ is being published by Penguin Books.

Mohanlal himself will release the book through his Facebook page. It will be available in bookstores from February 14.

Vismaya's debut book contains over 70 short poems and paintings. Vismaya has taken inspiration from Japanese Haiku poems. The collection includes poems ranging from one liners to 15 liners. Love, separation, naughtiness and ideas are among the themes of the poems in the collection.

Penguin Books calls Vismaya’s work as – a journey through the river of human emotions. The Malayalam translation of the book by poetess Rose Mary will be published by Mathrubhumi Books.

I pray that legends of poetry will guide Vismaya: Mohanlal

In the preface of his daughter’s debut publication, Mohanlal said that the poems reminded him of Japanese Haiku poet Basho. The poems are a reflection of thoughts than meanings, he said. Mohanlal prayed that the ideas of legendary poets will guide Vismaya’s thoughts and words.
