Kannur: Poet and cultural activist T Gopi (49) passed away on Tuesday. He had been undergoing treatment for cancer and heart disease for a long time.
Gopi has been finding money to meet this treatment expense by printing and selling his poem collection. 'Higuitayude Randamvaravu', 'Prakrithee Manohari' are his noted creations.
Gopi, a law graduate and a resident of Palissery, started his career working in a jewelry in Thalassery. Later set apart his whole time for poems.
He is survived by wife Bindhu and children Sidharth Krishna and Rithuparna.
