Changanassery: P K Parakkadavu’s work ‘Thumb Tales’ published by Mathrubhumi Books won the 7th JKV Award. The award is given in the name of famous journalist and literary enthusiast JKV every two years.

The award includes an amount of Rs 10,000, plaque and a citation. JKV Foundation Secretary, Dr Santhosh JKV said that the award will be given during a function commemorating JKV’s remembrance day on June 10 in Changanassery.

The judging committee including Dr Nedumudi Harikumar, Dr Babu Cherian and Varghese Antony selected ‘Thumb Tales’ from the books released in 2020-21.

‘Thumb Tales’ has been translated into Bengali by Bengali writer Thrishna Basak. P K Parakkadavu has had 43 of his works published so far. He has won several awards including the 2016 Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for overall contribution. His works have been translated into Indian languages, English and Arabic.
