Kulappully (Palakkad): The farmers who are in trouble due to wild boar menace can let out a sigh of relief as Lakkidi native Ajeesh has come up with a solution. A mechanic in Manissery, Ajeesh has manufactured an equipment named ‘Wind Power’ to drive away wild boars from farms.

The equipment has a fan that rotates to all directions in the wind and it makes sound from a steel plate attached to it according to the wind speed. The sound can also be adjusted.

Ajeesh used leaves of old fan, steel plates and bearings to make it. He is also planning to set up laser lights that turns on at night using solar power. Ajeesh said that he manufactured the equipment as requested by his friend Sasi, a farmer.

As the experiment was successful, more farmers approached Ajeesh to make it for them. The machine has been set up in several farms in Arani, Vaniyamkulam and Manissery areas.

Ajeesh started working as mechanic at the age of 16. He is running a clutch repairing shop in Manissery. He said that the making cost of the machine is only Rs 800 when its parts are taken from old materials.
