Kothanalloor (Kottayam): When the tapioca planted in Kothanalloor native Jain Joseph’s compound was harvested, the family members were amazed to see a 2-metre-long giant tuber weighing over 10 kilograms.

Jain’s wife Shiny dug out the tapioca on Monday and was surprised to see its size. She said that more tubers are remaining underground.

The tapioca is quintal variety. It was planted during the lockdown and they had not used any fertilizer. The giant tuber was harvested from 20 tapioca plants planted in the compound.
