Thrissur: All India Kisan Sabha passed a resolution on Wednesday demanding enactment of a law to ensure minimum support price (MSP) for agri produces at the national conference in Thrissur.

“When the union government approached to end the farmers’ protest (2020–2021 Indian farmers' protest) it had assured that the law to ensure MSP will be enacted. However, even after one year, the government is not ready to enact the law,” it highlighted.

Interestingly, this was the first resolution passed in the four-day conference. The resolution also raised the following demands:

  • Ensure farming community the public support it deserves
  • Provide services and inputs to cut down farming costs
  • Follow Swaminathan Commission formula for determining MSP
  • Improve stocking and procurement facilities
