Shashi Tharoor backs Youth Cong’s demand for opportunities to new faces
Thiruvananthapuram: Shashi Tharoor MP has come forward extending his support for Youth Congress’s demand to give opportunities to new faces in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier, Youth Congress state president Dean Kuriakose had demanded that youngsters and new faces should be given priorities and those who work for the party have to be given ample consideration in the Lok Sabha elections.
“I agree with the demand of Youth Congress to give opportunities to youngsters. Changing of the sitting MPs has to be decided by the party. Candidacy is decided considering the chances of victory,” said Tharoor.
Youth Congress is getting ready for a Door-To-Door campaign against the anti-people policies of the Central government in the wake of upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The campaign will be executed basing on the constituencies and electoral booths.
“If the party demands, I am ready to contest from Idukki. And this is a favourable time for the Congress,” Dean Kuriakose told Mathrubhumi News.
“By February 10, constituency based conventions will be over and by February 25, Door-To-Door campaign will also be completed. Youth Congress state representative meeting and Cadre Conference will be organised by March 1”, added Dean.
