Plastic flex boards banned during poll campaigns
Kochi: The High Court has issued an interim order imposing a ban on using flex boards during election campaigns. The HC order has clarified that only degradable items must be used during poll campaigns.
The HC order comes after a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking a ban on plastic flex boards.
Earlier, the Election Commission had directed that, plastic that can be used only once, should not be used for poll campaigns. The interim order was announced following a PIL seeking to implement this direction.
Hence, only degradable items must be used for poll campaigns. Stringent action will be taken against those using plastic flex boards.
