Kodiyeri meets Kanam; LDF seat discussion commences
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran held a meeting marking the beginning of seat discussions in the LDF. The discussions with other allies will be held only after the LDF meeting to be conducted on February 11.
As indicated by the leaders, the four seats in which CPI candidates contested last year are not likely to be changed. CPM has shown interest in Thiruvananthapuram constituency due to the poor performance of CPI. Janata Dal-S also has expressed their interest in this seat which will be finalised after the discussions.
If CPM decides to contest in Thiruvananthapuram besides Attingal, CPI would not get any seat in the capital. The party leaders claimed that there was no discussion regarding the seats and it was only a regular meeting conducted every week. Party leaders’ meetings also were held for deciding the candidates for the four seats reserved for CPI.
