Women's commission playing politics, alleges Ramya Haridas
Palakkad: Ramya Haridas, UDF candidate in Alathur came down heavily on the women’s commission. She alleged that the commission is playing politics and they never contacted her even over phone.
“The commission suo moto registered case against K Sudhakaran, UDF candidate in Kannur after finding a report in the newspaper. But took no action against LDF convener Vijayaraghavan. Women’s commission didn’t even call me on phone. I didn’t get justice. There is mystery in the actions of the commission,” alleged Ramya during a press meet.
During an election campaign programme, Vijayaraghavan had made a controversial statement against Ramya Haridas. Ramya had then filed a complaint to Alathur DySP against him. Tirur DySP is investigating the case. However, Vijayaraghavan said that he hadn’t made any derogatory remarks on Ramya.
The women’s commission, on the other day had registered suo moto case against K Sudhakaran for insulting womanhood in an advertisement video released by the Congress as part of their election campaign.
