UDF alleges ‘cash for vote’ campaign by LDF in Kollam
Kollam: UDF candidate in Kollam NK Premachandran alleged that the LDF is trying to buy votes with money. Speaking to Mathrubhumi News, Premachandran said he has obtained an information that LDF is propagating ‘cash for vote’ campaign in Kollam Lok Sabha constituency. They have identified and listed 3000 families in the constituency to give money for their votes and the same will be distributed today or tomorrow, he further said.
‘They are trying to obtain the votes after finding that there is no fruitful result on personal defamation and allegations against me. It is difficult to get proper evidence on this, but it is a fact. They are trying to provide money and buy votes. I got information that they are trying to manipulate the election with huge funds,” he said.
Also, Premachandran unofficially said that the campaign is entrusted with an event management company from outside. They are aiming at 18000 votes through the campaign.
KN Balagopal is the LDF candidate in Kollam.
Meanwhile, Balagopal brushed off the allegations calling them baseless and said that even Congress party workers will not believe those comments.
“All these comments are made out of frustration. Unwanted comments and false remarks shouldn’t be made. People knows LDF and the party members. We have always remained an open book. All these comments are made out of fear of failure,” he added.
