Thiruvananthapuram: In connection with the sting operation row, the DGP has received a legal advice to charge case against Congress leader and UDF candidate in Kozhikode M. K. Raghavan. The legal advice given by the Director General of Prosecution directs to charge a case based on the Representation of the People Act.
Earlier, a television channel had released the visuals of a sting operation in which Raghavan was seen demanding bribe for a land deal with a Singapore based company. This led to a controversy, but Raghavan denied the allegations. The legal advice to register a case against him has received based on this incident.
The police sought legal advice in the matter after examining full version of the video footage. It is notable that the legal advice has received with the election round the corner. The police are trying to conduct a forensic examination of the video.
