Security beefed up in Kozhikode ahead of PM visit; traffic restriction put in place
Kozhikode: In wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kozhikode on Friday, security in the district has been beefed up. 2000 policemen, from within and outside the district have been placed in duty. 150 women police officers, 1700 policemen, 100 CIs, 30 DySPs, five Additional SPs have been deployed under ten SPs.
Modi will reach the Karipur airport from Hubli at 6. 10 pm on a charted plane. He will reach the Kozhikode beach at 6.40 pm by road. After the programme at the beach he will return to Madura by 7.30 pm.
Modi is attending the election campaign programme of NDA candidates in connection with the Lok Sabha elections. NDA leaders and candidates from Kasaragod to Palakkad districts will attend the programme.
Huge traffic restriction has been put in place ahead of Modi’s visit in the city.
