Kozhikode: During the Lok Sabha election, SDPI had supported UDF in Thrissur, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram constituencies, said SDPI state president P. Abdul Majeed Faizi. He was addressing a press conference here.
Abdul Majeed Faizi said that the CPM cannot blame SDPI for the setback that LDF would face. He also alleged that the CPM was trying to spice up statements by affixing the label of terrorism on SDPI.
“CPM’s stance of turning a blind eye towards reality resulted in the Left party being swept way in West Bengal and Tripura. At a time when all political parties are concerned about BJP becoming the single major part again, the CPM is trying to create differences among parties instead of trying to forge an alliance against fascism. CPM should correct this stand,” said Abdul Majeed Faizi.
“Not just in Kerala, minority voters have united against BJP across India. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan must explain the national significance of CPM to be chosen by the anti BJP voters. The last assembly elections proved that even the minority voters in Kerala does not maintain a grudge against CPM. So, if those minority voters decided to caste their franchise against LDF, the left front must analyze the reasons behind instead of blaming SDPI,” he said.
Abdul Majeed Faizi alleged that Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was persuading his supports to organize riots for fear of losing the polls.
Earlier, UDF candidates ET Mohammed Basheer and PK Kunhalikutty meeting SDPI leaders in Ponnani had created a controversy.
