Rahul Gandhi's candidature won't create any new wave: MV Shreyams Kumar
Kozhikode: The candidature of Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad will not affect the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and won't create any kind of new wave, said Loktantrik Janata Dal State President MV Shreyams Kumar. If Rahul is contesting against BJP, it should be in one of their bastion. The candidature is Congress’ internal matter. He added that he is questioning the logic of the candidature in Wayanad.
While speaking at the Mukhamukham programme at the Kozhikode press club, Shreyams said that the thousands of people seen at the LDF election meetings are the evidence that Rahul has made no influence.
“The Congress that says 20/20 in Kerala should show the courage to say 80/80 in UP. K Muraleedharan’s statement that socialists will vote for him in Vadakara is totally baseless. Sabotaging elections is the culture of Congress. Socialists don’t have that culture. P Jayarajan is the victim of violent politics. It is not right to portray such a person as a propagator of murder politics. All these are just allegations,” he added.
To bring in a secular democratic government at the Centre, LDF’s victory is essential. Modi government stands by just the corporates. Issues like farmer suicides are not being discussed. BJP and Congress are alike in polarizing the society. If BJP is given a second term, it will be a huge threat to democracy, he further added.
