Thiruvananthapuram: A re-polling will be held at booth 83 in Kalamassery in Ernakulam constituency for the Lok Sabha elections after the presiding officer forgot to delete the votes that were polled during mock polling.
The issue came to light after 43 additional votes were recorded in the voting machine. The new polling date will be announced later by the election commission, said chief election officer Teeka Ram Meena.
The decision was taken after a complaint was registered stating that more votes than the number of votes actually polled were recorded in the machine.
