Postal vote row: Crime Branch submits interim report
Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch submitted an interim report in connection with the irregularities in police postal vote. They have sought more time to submit the final report. The Crime Branch also made it clear that the number of votes can be assessed only after the counting of vote is completed. The interim report submitted to the DGP mentions these.
The statement of police officers who went for election duty outside state also need to be recorded. The Crime Branch also pointed out that further investigation will be possible only after knowing the number of postal votes. For this, they have to wait till the counting of votes is completed.
State Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena directed that the investigative report should be submitted before the election results are announced. Wednesday was the last date for submission of the final report. The Crime Branch had issued a notice the other day to file complaints regarding the irregulairities.
