Political opponents misled devotees, LDF lost traditional votes: A Vijayaraghavan
Thiruvananthapuram: LDF convenor A Vijayaraghavan said that the front lost traditional votes it had been receiving during elections.
LDF’s political opponents have temporarily succeeded in misleading the devotees. The LDF will examine all these factors in details and keep moving forward, he said while addressing a press conference.
The LDF faced an unexpected setback, but we will evaluate the people’s mandate and make necessary corrections. It is a relief that the BJP did not get any seats from Kerala. However, the saffron party remaining in power at the centre is a strong challenge. This will have severe consequences on the country’s economic policy and social structure. Secular values and constitutional establishments will face an onslaught, he said.
In this situation, the public’s defence must be strengthened. The LDF is obligated towards this. Even though the UDF gained the majority, over 75 lakh voters stood by the LDF. “I thank all of those who voted for LDF and express my gratitude to all the supporters who worked tirelessly to take the Left front’s political stand to the people,” he added.
There will be strong efforts to reunite the sections of public which were separated from LDF. The public will realise the government and left front’s sincere approach towards issues faced by the masses, said Vijayaraghavan.
