Kasargod: There are complaints that postal votes were not allotted to policemen who were on election duty. A policeman associated with the Bekal station filed a complaint in this regard. Chance was not given to the 33 policemen of Bekal station to vote, the complainant stated.
44 cops of the station were assigned election duty on April 23. All had applied for postal ballots well before April 12 but only 11 policemen including the CI were issued postal ballots. The rest were denied postal ballots.
Though this was pointed out in a complaint filed to the district collector 4 days back, there was no action taken. However, the collector stated that all those who have requested for postal votes were given.
