Pinarayi slams Amit Shah for comparing Wayanad to Pakistan
Kalpetta: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that BJP national president Amit Shah’s statement against Wayanad is meaningless. It is an insult to Wayanad. Those who know the history of Wayanad will not compare it with Pakistan, the chief minister said while attending a poll campaign here.
‘Amit Shah spoke about Wayanad in an offensive way. He said the meetings in Wayanad resemble meetings in Pakistan. Does he have any clue of Wayanad’s role in the battle against the British? Such historic facts are known to only those who took part in freedom struggle,’ the chief minister said.
He further said that everyone knows that it was the Kurichya fighters who joined Pazhassi Raja in his battle for freedom. He also criticised the green flag remark of Amit Shah and the ASEAN stand taken by Rahul Gandhi.
He asked if Rahul Gandhi is willing to apologise to the farmers for signing the ASEAN deal. The deal was signed without discussing it with the parliament or Kerala government. The drawbacks of the decision are suffered by the farmers here, he blamed.
‘The new deal will be signed soon. But the Congress takes the same stand. The disadvantages of ASEAN affected not only the farmers of Kerala. The farmer suicides increased in Andhra during the tenure of Manmohan Singh as PM. So is the case between 2014-2019,’ the CM pointed out.
The public sector is being privatised on a large scale. The atrocities against women increased immensely during the two governments during 2009-2014. Both take the same stand and there is no difference. The attack on SC/ST communities intensified during 2014-2019,’ he added.
