Thiruvananthapuram: Union minister Alphons Kannathanam stated that he is not contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls. He added that if the party continued to pressurize him for entering the fray, he will contest from Thrissur, Kottayam or Pathanamthitta.
Kannathanam made it clear that he is not interested to face the ballot from Kollam constituency. He also said that he is not acquainted with anyone in Kollam and remarked that Malappuram could be a better option than Kollam.
Alphons Kannanthanam entered politics after resigning from Civil Services. He was elected to Kerala assembly with LDF support in 2006 and he joined BJP later.
