No compromise; CEO stern on action against bogus voting
Thiruvananthapuram: State Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena said that no compromises would be made in taking action against bogus voting. He also told mediapersons here that the issue is taken seriously.
He added that he had also directed the district collectors of Kannur and Kasaragod collectors on Monday itself to submit a factual report in connection with the allegations raised by the LDF that Muslim League workers also cast bogus votes.
The allegation of bogus voting in the postal votes of police force has not been noticed yet. But Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran have filed a complaint in this regard already, he said.
Later, an explanation was sought from DGP Loknath Behera in this reagrd and a reply was received. However, no evidence to prove any illegal action was found, Meena said.
Teeka Ram Meena added that all district collectors are asked to submit urgent report after examining the complaints raised by the political leaders through media regarding bogus voting.
