Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF has submitted a complaint to the Election Commission (EC) over the incident where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s speech was interrupted by namajapa through loudspeaker from a nearby temple.
The complaint has been filed against the mic operator and police. The complaint alleges that the loud speaker was set up violating the distance limit and that it was an attempt to disrupt the meeting. I B Satheesh MLA alleged conspiracy behind the incident.
The CM’s speech in Kattakkada was interrupted after namajapa from a nearby temple was aired through a loudspeaker. Following this, the CM enquired about it and LDF leaders disconnected the loudspeaker.
It is in this context that the LDF raised the allegations that the incident was a conspiracy and filed a complaint to the EC. The LDF leaders said they had informed the police about the meeting as per regulations issued by the Election Commission.
As a festival was going on at the temple, the LDF had demanded the police to warn the temple officials about the distance limit while using loudspeakers. But the police were negligent and did not follow protocol, the complaint said.
