Leadership summons; Kummanam sets out to Delhi
Thiruvananthapuram: Amid the speculations regarding a union minister from Kerala, former Governor of Mizoram and NDA candidate in Thiruvananthapuram Kummanam Rajasekharan has set out to Delhi. He boarded the flight to Delhi on Thursday at 6.05 am.
It is not clear whether Kummanam has received any hint of being appointed as minister. He had said two days ago that he would not go for the swearing-in ceremony. Despite attempts to contact him to know the response regarding the journey, he could not be connected. It is learnt that the leadership summoned him to Delhi.
Apart from Kummanam, the names of V. Muraleedharan, Alphons Kannathanam, Suresh Gopi and P. C. Thomas also are considered for the post of minister, it is learnt. Among them, Kummanam, Muraleedharan and Kannanthanam are given top priority.
The state leadership is hopeful that Kerala will be given representation in the cabinet during first phase itself. BJP state president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
