Pathanamthitta: BJP national president Amit Shah stated that NDA candidate in Pathanamthitta K. Surendran is the representative of devotees. He made the remark during the road show conducted here. The public meeting which was supposed to be conducted after the road show was cancelled due to heavy rain. Following this, Amit Shah addressed the people from the open vehicle.
The speech made by Amit Shah indicated that the NDA focuses on the Sabarimala issue in the poll campaign. He said that Surendran is the candidate of not only BJP, but also the devotees all over the world. He urged the people to support Surendran as he is a candidate fielded to protect the beliefs.
Hundreds of party workers participated in the road show despite the heavy rain. Amit Shah arrived at Pathanamthitta very late and the road show commenced at 4 pm from Pathanamthitta general hospital junction. The road show was planned to conclude at the new bus stand within half an hour. However, the huge rush of party workers delayed the movement of the vehicle.
After addressing the people, Amit Shah returned to Alappuzha. NDA candidate K. Surendran, BJP state president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, cricketer Sreesanth, former Women’s Commission member Prameela Devi and MLA P. C. George also attended the road show.
