How low can a man stoop to? KC Venugopal against Modi
Alappuzha: AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stooped irrecoverably low as a leader. Modi has brought disgrace to his title by insulting a martyred leader like Rajiv Gandhi, Venugopal said.
“Is anything said by the PM true? Rajiv Gandhi was acquitted in the Bofors case in 2005 by Delhi High Court. The appeal filed by the CBI against the HC order was rejected by the Supreme Court. PM’s allegations are on a case in which Rajiv Gandhi was acquitted by the apex court. The irony is that Election Commission which should take note of this, is keeping a blind eye and serving clean chit after clean chit to Modi.”
No matter what Modi says, he gets a clean chit from EC. All beliefs tell us to respect the deceased souls. But our PM didn’t even show such a courtesy, Venugopal added while at a press conference here.
Earlier PM Narendra Modi, at a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh, attacked Rajiv Gandhi calling him "Bhrashtachari No.1" (Corrupt No.1).
"Your (Rahul’s) father was termed 'Mr. Clean' by his courtiers but his life ended as Bhrashtachari No. 1," Modi had said.
Modi's reaction came following Congress chief's incessant attacks on him regarding allegations of corruption in the Rafale jet deal.
