Election expenditure observers arrive in Kerala to monitor discrepancies
Alappuzha: Election expenditure observer appointed by the Election Commission of India will arrive in Alappuzha on Thursday. Benudhar Behera from Odisha will take charge here and will summon a meeting of the officials on the first day of nomination filing.
The EC has appointed 8 expenditure observers in every Lok Sabha constituency. Some officials will be deployed to secretly collect evidence on discrepancies in expenditure.
The team of observers will probe into the complaints on election expenditure and donations. Special facility has been made to examine the details of expenditure submitted by the candidates.
All public meetings of candidates are strictly videographed for reference.
