Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that the statements of CPM leaders that those wearing Niqab must not be allowed to vote was misleading and condemnable.
“It is an individual’s freedom to choose what he/she wants to wear. Nobody can interfere in that. Such statements are being released to cover the shame of minorities completely abandoning LDF,” he added.
Stating that the CPM leaders had lost their minds after foreseeing failure in the Lok Sabha election, Chennithala said they were speaking the language of Sangh Parivar forces. The CPM leaders must withdraw their statements and apologise, demanded Chennithala.
