Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India and the chief election officer stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
The petitions have been filed through LDF regional committees and directly by the CPM.
The complaint is regarding Modi’s statements while addressing election rallies in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The PM had stated that the people of Kerala were unable to call Lord Ayyappa while mentioning the name of Sabarimala. The CPM complained that it was in violation of the MCC.
Modi attended election rallies in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. He was careful not to mention the name of Sabarimala in Kerala but clearly highlighted the temple issue while speaking in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
