CM should own moral responsibility and resign: Sreedharan Pillai
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai demanded that chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan should resign taking up moral responsibility of the failure of LDF in Lok Sabha elections. He also said that LDF was not doing well in 75 assembly segments in the state. The administration and ministers too were actively involved in the election campaigning, he added.
Sreedharan Pillai added that even LDF MLAs Veena George and A. Pradeep Kumar must also resign. He dismissed the allegations of delay in determining candidates in Kerala.
The party will check if there were any lapses in the political activities in Thiruvananthapuram. The decline in vote share in Thiruvananthapuram is not noticed yet, he said.
Sreedharan Pillai stated that he had not expressed any interest to contest the polls. Sabarimala issue was not used as a tool in politics. The party has offered huge support to the protests of the devotees. We are still firm on the stand, he said.
CPM claims that a religious divide has occurred in Kerala. It was not done by BJP but Congress with whom CPM were planning to share the power in the centre. There is no point in saying that BJP failed in Kerala.
The vote share in 19 seats in Kerala has increased. He further said that the upcoming bypolls will be seriously handled. He also informed that the day of Modi’s swearing-in will be considered as a day of celebration.
