Chief electoral officer orders to remove govt advertisements from public places
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Teeka Ram Meena issued an order directing to remove the government advertisements from public places in the state. The advertisements displayed in KSRTC buses also must be removed, said the order.
The order was issued as the model code of conduct came into force with the declaration of election date. District collectors are directed to take immediate action to remove the advertisements of state and central governments which detail achievements and schemes.
At the same time, transport commissioner and transport secretary also directed to immediately remove advertisements displayed on KSRTC buses within 24 hours.
Along with KSRTC buses and public places, advertisements displayed on government websites and government buildings must also be removed immediately.
