Bogus voting: Police register case against 3 Muslim League activists
Kannur: The police have registered a case against three Muslim League (IUML) activists for casting bogus votes at a polling booth at Puthiyangadi in Kasaragod Lok Sabha constituency.
Police registered cases against Muslim League activists Muhammad Fayis, K M Muhammad and Abdul Samad.
The CPM had complained that IUML activists had cast bogus votes in booth number 69 and 70 at Puthiyangadi in Kasaragod constituency during the LS polls. The CPM had also submitted video footage of the activists casting bogus votes.
Following this, the Chief Electoral Officer ordered an investigation. District collector held an investigation and found that bogus voting had taken place.
The collector took statements of the IUML activists. All three were asked to appear before the collector in person and give statements after they were found to have cast votes in two booths. Following this, the collector submitted a detailed report to the Chief Electoral Officer.
