Bogus voting in Thrikaripur: Case against CPM worker
Payyannur: A case has been registered against a CPM worker who was found to have cast bogus vote at Thrikaripur in Kasaragod Lok Sabha Constituency. The case has been registered against Cheemeni native K. Shyam Kumar as it was found out that he cast bogus vote at booth number 48 in Thrikaripur.
Section 171 and sub sections C, D, F of the Representation of the People Act have been imposed against Shyam Kumar. He has been charged with impersonation and for casting another person’s vote using unethical influence.
Kasaragod collector Dr. D. Ajith Babu had submitted a report in this regard to Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena. The Chief Electoral Officer issued an order to register a case against the accused. Following this, the collector directed the district police chief to register a case against Shyam Kumar.
